Dental Awareness:

​

People in India are less aware about the importance of their oral hygiene and thus they hardly go to the dentist for routine check-ups and cleanings. Most of the time, it is only when dental problems reach the extreme that they visit the dentist.

​

The most challenging part of all was building awareness for oral hygiene. Even after availability of dental care and eliminating the issues of transportation and payment, we witnessed people with very poor oral hygiene. Poverty, depression, stress and economic problems lead to various addictions and improper oral hygiene.

Counselling the patients and inspiring them to love and value their life is also a part of practicing rural dentistry. People in rural areas pay far less attention to oral health care than other aspects of health care. Educating them that oral health is a window to overall health is mandatory

Free Dental Camp:

​

We are planning to organize free dental check-up camp at a regular interval of time in villages and schools. The patients who required treatment will be advised to visit the hospital and will be treated free of charge. During dental camps in villages, we will have the opportunityto educate people by presenting lectures on importance of oral health care, harmful effects of smoking and tobacco, tooth brushing techniques, etc.

Our Doctors:

​

1. Dr Kritika Kiran: Dr. Kiran has completed a bachelor of dental surgery (BDS) from MMDCH, Darbhanga, Bihar, INDIA. This requires four years of classroom training and one year of internship. In addition, she practiced dentistry in Private setting and Government Hospital for years and that has helped her understand dentistry from both an academic as well as a professional point of view. She is lucky enough to get several opportunities and learn about dental practices. She gained invaluable experience and it strengthened her decision to pursue dentistry here.

2. Dr. Kumari Nandini: Dr. Nandini has completed her bachelor of dental surgery (BDS) from Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, INDIA with same four years of classroom training and one year of internship. During the one of year training session, she got opportunity to understand dentistry from both an academic as well as a professional front. She, as a young and enthusiastic entrepreneur, has decided to be with the SSLD and contribute for the rural people in its Oral hygiene awareness, treat them, educate them in the office as well as in the camp to be organized by the association.
